Terms of Service
The rules,
the short version.

What Advocado Outreach is
Advocado Outreach is a software tool that helps you collect answers from your supporters and turn those answers into personalized letters that the supporters themselves send to decision-makers.
By using Advocado Outreach you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe, for everything that happens under your account, and for ensuring the information you give us is accurate. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind the organization you're creating campaigns on behalf of.
How you can and can't use it
You can use Advocado Outreach to run legal advocacy campaigns, collect supporter submissions, and deliver letters to decision-makers you choose.
You can't use Advocado Outreach to harass, threaten, impersonate, or deceive any person; to send commercial spam; to distribute malware; to scrape or reverse-engineer the service; to violate any law or third-party right; or to create a campaign that another reasonable person would consider hateful, illegal, or fraudulent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate campaigns or accounts that violate these rules or that we judge, in good faith, to be damaging to other users or to the integrity of the service.
Content you and your supporters create
You retain ownership of your campaign content and your supporters retain ownership of their answers and letters. You grant Advocado Outreach a limited license to store, process, and transmit that content strictly for the purpose of running the service for you.
You represent that you have the rights needed to use any content you upload, and that your campaign questions and description don't infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy.
Sparks and billing
Advocado uses metered billing. Three actions cost sparks: creating a campaign (5 sparks), generating a letter (1 spark), and parsing an uploaded document (1 spark). Each spark costs $0.08. Everything else in the product is free to use.
A payment method is required at signup. We will not charge you anything at signup. Instead, your first 50 sparks of usage are applied as a promotional credit to your account. This credit is non-transferable and has no cash value; unused portions stay on your account until consumed.
Billing is handled through Stripe. By adding a payment method you authorize us to charge the card on file at the end of each monthly billing cycle for the sparks used during that cycle, net of any remaining promotional credit. There is no minimum charge and no upfront fee. You can cancel the payment method at any time from the billing portal.
Paid invoices are non-refundable except as required by law. If you believe there is a billing error, email contact@advocadooutreach.us and we will investigate and issue corrections via Stripe credit notes where appropriate.
We may change per-spark prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you don't like a change, you can stop using the product at any time.
AI-generated content
Letters produced by Advocado Outreach are drafted by an AI model using your supporter's answers as raw material. The AI can occasionally produce inaccurate or off-tone content. Every letter is reviewed and sent by the supporter, not by us, and the supporter is responsible for what they send. We make no warranty that AI-generated letters are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Deliverability and third-party services
Advocado Outreach uses third-party services (Clerk, Neon, Anthropic, Resend, Stripe, Vercel) to operate. Their availability and behavior is outside our control. Letters are delivered through the supporter's own email client; we can't guarantee that any given recipient will open, read, or respond to a letter.
Termination
You can stop using Advocado Outreach and close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, we'll handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Advocado Outreach is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll post a notice on the site and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
